My Wants

This was a snippet of my conversation with Chris tonight:

Me: I want to go to the gym 6 days a week, maybe twice a day.
Me: I want to eat veggies and chicken.
Me: I want brown rice
Me: I want a lot of water and flavored water.
Me: I want to weigh 120 pounds.
Me: I want this to happen in 6-8 months.
Me: Sound good?
Me: and I want lots of cute new clothes when I lose it all.

To all this, my husband (very supportingly) says: well if you do all that, it will be done in 3 months

He's being a little too supportive. I don't think it's not possible to lose roughly 35 pounds (healthily) in 3 months. Nice try though, dear. :)

haha. Another thing I've thought of since, is that when I'm hot because it's summer time, I want for my wedding rings to still fit easily even though I'm all swollen from the heat. Do you know what I mean?

If I can get to this goal, 120lbs will be the smallest I'll have been since ... well, I don't really know. Probably middle school. I think I was about 135 in HS. If I can lose 30- 35 pounds in 7 months (I'm giving myself 8) that will mean 5 pounds a month. Totally doable! Can't wait to get back to Utah and get back to the gym!!!!

Day 147

Oh dear. Bad news. Haha, I've not been able to make it to the gym like, 2 months. It's been really sad. I have eczema on my upper lip and from past experience, I know that when I get sweaty my lip/eczema gets worse. I'm not sure why my eczema acts up like this sometimes. Some times it's just a few days at a time other times its weeks. In this case, it's months. It hurts and is embarrassing and not fun. Anyway, also, my family doesn't cook the healthiest kinds of foods... hehe, but it is darn good food. Because of all this, I haven't done well on the weight loss. In fact, I've gained about back about 5 to 7 pounds. Gross, I know and I feel really disgusting. It probably doesn't help that I go to bed around 2 or 3 am every night. You do know that getting a good amount of sleep helps your body maintain and/or lose weight, right? I only have another week till we leave for home in UT and then I'll get to go back to the gym! I'm really excited about that. If any friends reading this are in Orem or Provo or American Fork I'd be happy to go to the gym with you! :) Yay.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update: (12/14) It turns out I've only gained back about 3 pounds. Wow, that's a big difference. The scale I use is an analog scale (with the needle pointer, you know?) and today I stepped onto a digital scale and was pleasantly surprised to see a lower number than I'd expected. Sweet.

Day 80

Wow, it's been a while. I still weigh the same. And now that Margot's wedding is done, I've gotten really relaxed about eating and exercising. Not too good, I know, I know. I gotta get back on that band-wagon! :)

Day 64

Tonight, I weighed myself before settling into bed and to work on my foreign film class paper. Guess what. I'm 147.7! Whooo!!! That means 2 pounds away from my pre-wedding weight and oh my gosh, I'm so excited. :-D Yay. Margot's wedding is a mere 10 days away, which means I have less than 2 weeks to lose 7 pounds. Which ... probably won't happen, but that'll be okay. Since I started, I've lots 10 pounds now. On Day One, I wrote: "The short term goal is to lose at least 10-15 pounds by Sept 30th for my friend's wedding in Oct." I started this blog at being 157. So I've hit the minimum!!! How great is that? Maybe I can lose another 2 pounds before I leave next week. Thank you, thank you. Hold your applause. ;)

Thursday, September 16, 2010

Day 59

Today is my 4 year wedding anniversary. :) But anyway... about weight loss. I went with a friend last night to Old Navy in Gilroy and guess what. Instead of size 10 pants, I bought size 8!!! I'm really excited about it!!!!! :-D And of course, skinny jeans. Yay me.

Tuesday, September 14, 2010

Day 57

This morning, I weighed myself and I am 149!!!!! That means I weigh less than Chris. haha! I was complaining to him last night about how I feel like I'll never weigh less than him again. I'm sooo excited I do again! :-D Yay!!! haha. I'm also excited to not be in the 150s in the morning. Seeing that 4 really made me happy. That means just 4 more pounds until pre-wedding weight! Oh my goodness. :) Yay.

Sunday, September 12, 2010

Day 55

Still at 150. Not a big shock, since I only posted about 3 days ago. I've decided to try out the HCG diet. Not the shots... oh my goodness, no way could I voluntarily give myself shots every day, but I will try the drops. There will be a pretty stick diet I'll stick to and then gradually go back to eating normally. It's just been hard going to the gym so much and not losing weight easily or quickly. I think I started this ... what? 2 months ago and I've only lost 7 pounds? Let's see how the HCG works. Anyone else tried it? Comments?

Thursday, September 9, 2010

Day 52

Uh oh. I haven't been blogging on here at all. :( I've been pretty busy. School started on the 1st and then over the weekend we went to LA to go to Disneyland. But, I'm down to 150! :-D Whoo! So that's good. I probably won't be blogging on here everyday anymore now that school has started and my math teacher gives us 4 pages of homework every class, ha. At least the other three classes won't be so hard. Thanks for sticking around!

Tuesday, August 31, 2010

Day 43

I haven't been able to post anything because I left town this weekend for a wedding. And I'm not going to post my meals because, frankly, I can't remember all of the days I didn't write about. But, it probably wasn't the best stuff to eat. :) Oh well. I'm back on the wagon today!

Breakfast: Bowl of cereal
Water: Glass of apple juice

Lunch: Ham sandwich and some sun chips.
Water: 15 oz

Dinner: Uh.... oh right. Penne pasta with chicken and alfredo sauce.
Water: Shoot, I don't think I had any. But maybe I did, cuz I've had to pee a lot tonight. And no, Teresa, I'm not pregnant. :)

Tomorrow, I am going to (TRY to) start OverEaters Anonymous. I'm not going to go to the meetings because, frankly, with school starting and Baby, I just don't have time. I'll try to stick to the menu as much as food and the wallet allows. The countdown has officially started now that Margot's wedding is one month away.

Friday, August 27, 2010

Day 39

Out of curiosity, I looked up some websites that tell you how many calories you burn. Apparently, I burn from 1800-1900. You type in your age, weight and height and what kind of activity level your day is and it tells you. Here's one of them.

http://caloriecount.about.com/cc/calories-burned.php

Breakfast: A bowl of chex
Water: I had a small glass of apple juice.

Lunch: A had a bagel ham sandwich and some sun chips.
Water: 32 oz

Dinner: Pizza-- veggie.
Water: 24 oz

Exercise: I'm hoping to go to the gym tonight. -- Well, I went to the gym tonight. Only to turn right back around. I went to the day care and no one was there!! :( I was really embarrassed (for having to leave so quickly after I'd arrived.) I called when I got home, but the regular staff didn't answer, even though the office hours hadn't closed. I was pretty disappointed. :(
Water:

Thursday, August 26, 2010

Day 38

Breakfast: I had a bowl of soup. It was cold this morning!
Water: 32 oz

Lunch: A salad with mushrooms and ranch. I also had some of Baby's Sun Chips. Sheesh. Okay, more than just "Some." Bad. hah
Water: Apple juice.

Dinner: Will be stir fry, fried rice and teriyaki chicken. Yum! and it's mostly home made (the teriyaki is store bought) so I control how healthy it is. Plus, it's one of my favorite dinners. :)
Water:

Wednesday, August 25, 2010

Day 37

Breakfast: I had a flat bread breakfast thingy from subway with ham, onions, bell pepper and lettuce. It was REALLY good!
Water: I had a bottle of apple juice.

Lunch: Shoot.. what did I have? Oh, I think I had a bowl of cereal and a few bites of Baby's ham sandwich.
Water: I know it was lots... like, 40 oz. I was thirsty!

Dinner: Hamburgers, but I'll definitely limit it to one and then have lots of veggies!
water: Probably won't have as much as I did at lunch, but it's hot so maybe!

Exericse: Unfortunately I haven't been to the gym today or run around the neighborhood. It's been kinda busy with dropping Mom off at the airport and now the baby is napping ... so maybe I'll go after she wakes and eats. But hopefully that'll be before 6:30 cuz the day care stops at 8. ---Yes, went to the gym. Walked/ran for 30 minutes, then biked for about 10 and finished off with some free weights. I'm tired of having fat and flabby arms. :)

Tuesday, August 24, 2010

Day 36

I went to the gym this morning and have changed my mind about not doing the blog. I'm still going to do it. I guess it doesn't matter if no one reads it. I still need to be accountable to myself and this is where that can happen. I went to the gym this morning and ran. Felt pretty good. Then did an elliptical for a few minutes and then did some free weights stuff for about 15 minutes. Ouch.

Breakfast: I munched a few different things ranging from a chicken salad sandwich to a few pieces of cereal.
Water: 12 oz

Lunch: I didn't really have anything. I pretty much snacks throughout the day. Probably not the best idea, but whatever.
Water: 32 oz

Dinner: Chicken and noodle casserole.
Water: We haven't eaten yet so we'll see!

Exercise: Ran a mile, walked for another 15 minutes and then the free weights.
Water: 20 oz

Day 35

Well, I had pretty much resigned to not doing the blog anymore. I feel like no one is reading and I just don't know if I feel up to it anymore. So that is why there is nothing here for day 35.

Sunday, August 22, 2010

Day 34

Breakfast: A bacon sandwich. :) A bacon tradition growing up. It's a slice or two of bacon with a slice of bread. Aw, the memories.
Water: 8 oz

Lunch: A LITTLE spaghetti (Sometimes I can't help myself. It's one of my favorites.) and a chicken salad sandwich.
Water: 18 oz

Dinner: Tri tip! :) Delish! Esp since I won't have to cook it. Food that you don't have to cook is always better than food you do. I've made dinner every night since I got here. Not because I had to, but because I wanted to.
Water:

Exercise: Push-ups. Tomorrow, I get to go to a gym and go running!!!! :) Super excited about that.

Saturday, August 21, 2010

Day 33

Breakfast: Chex and a half a bagel.
Water: 10 oz

Water: uhm... 2 glasses. So ... 16 oz?

Dinner: I made spaghetti. :)
Water: 16 oz

Exercise: We walked around the board walk for like, and hour and a half. :)
Water: 16 oz

Friday, August 20, 2010

Day 32

SOOOOOOO excited right now!!!! I just joined a gym here in CA. :-D The original price I was quoted was 50 dollars a month but I was able to bring it down to 25 a month!!!!!!!! AWESOME!!!! I can finally go back to the gym. And the membership is only 4 months while I'm here and it includes day care!!! Sa-Weet!!! Oh goodness, can you tell I'm excited? :-D

Breakfast: Chex cereal
Water: I'll go have a glass full right now.

Lunch: A little mac and cheese from the baby and I had ... Hm.. what did I have? Oh, I had some shrimp wonton soup. It was pretty yummy.
Water: 16 oz

Dinner: Stir fry and rice and veggies. So delish!!!
Water: 18

Exercise: Push-ups. My parents put some arm machine exercise thing in my bedroom so I've also been using that. I've noticed that my left arm muscle is more defined than my right. It's kinda weird. Oh! But not like, noticeably, but to me it is.
Water:

Snack: Green bell pepper, a bit of ranch and ....... oh, I'm gunna have some peanut butter.
Water: 16 oz

Thursday, August 19, 2010

Day 31

Breakfast: Some pieces of Baby's cinnamon toast crunch and a bagel with a *little* butter.
Water:

Lunch: Ham sandwich and some of Baby's ramen
Water: 18 oz

Dinner: We went to Happi House in Milpitas before the circus last night.
Water: hm... probably 16 oz.

Exercise: Push-ups and arm weights.
Water: 10 oz

Wednesday, August 18, 2010

Day 30

Oh dear. I'm starting to lose motivation. I think it's because there is no gym here. I have a route planned now that I'm here. I just need to go. Someone give me motivation!! Man. I just need to get out and run. I'm getting lazy and fat again... boo!!

Breakfast: Bagel
Water: 12 oz

Lunch: Ham sandwich, a bell pepper and some grapes
Water: 12 oz

Dinner: Burrito.
Water: 18 oz

Snack: haha.. oh dear. This is where I start going downhill. I had a root beer float and some peanut butter (separately of course!). Weird combo, I know, but that's what I had after dinner. haha, so I guess it's more of a dessert. haha

Exercise: A few push-ups, cleaning a spare bedroom and moving Aria's stuff around. ...that counts doesn't it? :)

Tuesday, August 17, 2010

Day 29

Breakfast: A chicken salad sandwich
Water: 22 oz

Lunch: Another chicken salad sandwich on an onion bagel. :)
Water: 22 oz

Dinner:
Water:

Exercise: Went for a jog/walk around our neighborhood and I brought the dog and Baby. Probably won't take the dog again. Poor little thing can't hardly keep up.
Water: 0

Day 28

Today is my last day with my husband and in Utah until December. (Well, sorta. We'll see each other again in LA at Disneyland over Labor Day and then again when I come back for my friend's wedding.) I'm really going to miss him. This is going to be really tough. But the end result is worth it. I just have to keep telling myself this. :)

Anyway, we fly into CA around 8:30 (9:30 UT time). Maybe I can get a run in. I'm going to track a route right now! :)

Breakfast: French toast from Kneaders:
Water: Apple juice

Lunch:
Water:

Dinner: Tacos from the airport
Water: a water bottle

Exercise: does running after Baby at the airport count?
Water:

Let me just say... tonight at the airport was the WORST experience ever. Then Baby decided to throw up on the plane and scream the whole time. I felt really bad for everyone around us.

Sunday, August 15, 2010

Day 27

Oh boy... I really can't wait to get to CA and get my shoes and work out clothes. *Sigh* I've been doing push-ups and jumping jacks and running after Aria so hopefully it's helping.

Breakfast: Cereal at the hotel... it was ... Honey Bunches of Oats.
Water: I had 2 smalls cups of OJ

Lunch: Hot dogs. heh. I know, I know.. no need to tell me.
Water: 20 oz

Dinner: Panda Express... probably the worst thing ever.
Water: Lots of cups from the hotel of water. :) Yummy.

Exercise: Push-ups and jumping jacks.
Water: --

Day 26

So the big move is nearly over. We have about 7 things that we need to take to my cousin's house for Christopher. We are still in our apartment at the moment, and my running shoes are on their way to California. Sigh. So I couldn't go to the gym even if I wanted to--- which, I do.

Also, the foods I have been eating haven't been very good for me since our food is mostly at my cousin's for Chris or what we DO have available isn't very good. Sigh. I feel like I'm taking 3 steps back and zero steps forward. Gotta work really hard when I'm in CA. Luckily, a friend of mine offered to let me walk with her MWFs. Those days, I'll also be able to do some work out videos. Then, T,Th, I am thinking I'll go running on my own around my neighborhood. I gotta plan out a track to go that's 2 miles or so. I'm really hoping I haven't gained any weight from this horrible food. :(

Breakfast: We went to Denny's. I had their Biscuits and gravy and hash browns. I love hash browns but they are sooo bad for you.
Water: 1 glass

Lunch: Hot dogs and tator tots. :( Bad bad bad! (I'm also watching my little family eat pickles and grunt. hahah)
Water: 20 oz

Dinner: Hamburgers. Will be hamburgers. Bad!!!!!!
Water: Water

Exercise: Still zero, sadly.
Water:

Friday, August 13, 2010

Day 25

Today is the big moving day. Not too excited. I hate moving. We counted last night and this will be our 6th move since we were married 4 years ago. Too many moves. Hopefully our 7th move will be our last for a while. Anyhow, since today is moving day, it means that I won't be able to go to the gym again. Hopefully tonight or tomorrow though. We'll see! And I was sad I didn't get to go yesterday and Chris goes, "Well, you've been packing and lifting... that counts." No it doesn't. haha, Thanks for trying dear. :)

Breakfast: Bowl of Chex
Water: 12 oz? Man... I can't remember.

Lunch: Ham sandwich that my parents bought. It was good.
Water: 18 oz

Dinner: Wendys. Oh man. :(
Water: I had a kid soda. (AH!!!)

Exercise: Zip.
Water: 0

Gotta work SUPER hard to counteract all these bad meals.

Thursday, August 12, 2010

Day 24

Sadly, these next few days will be bad for me. I won't be able to make it to the gym (and I haven't gone today). We'll be busy packing and getting ready for the big separation move. :( Suck. An. Elf. (Ever seen 10th Kingdom? hehe) It's rather sad. I'm looking forward to the move but I'm not because I'm leaving my husband behind. :( Boo. *Sigh* Soon, I'll have to start running outside and that scares me! haha, I've gotten so used to my safe treadmills inside, watching movies, watching tv. I'll have to run on pavement now and figure out a route...! Eeek. Wish me luck. :)

Breakfast: Bowl of cereal
Water: 12 oz

Lunch: a few tator- tots and some ham. It sounds weird but it was good. haha
Water: 12 oz

Dinner: A bunch of mushrooms and a can of corn and two slices of pizza
Water: 36 oz

Exercise: I'm planning on doing a few push-ups as soon as there is enough room in this place to do some. I'm over run with boxes. And I need more.
Water:

Wednesday, August 11, 2010

Day 23

It's my last week in Utah until I move back in Dec. I'm trying to pack and go to the gym. I really want to take advantage while I'm still here. Oh why oh why couldn't I have been this motivated 3 months ago???? Sheesh!

Breakfast: Yogurt and 2 graham crackers. Quite yummy, too. Though, I only like vanilla yogurt. And I have to be careful about the way I eat it too, cuz if I focus too much, it feels all weird in my mouth and I can't finish it. I'm a big texture person when it comes to food. Weird. Totally weird. I know.
Water: 12 oz

Lunch: Rubios-- YUM! (Gosh, I use "Yum" a lot. What can I say? :) I really like food. hehe!) I had 2 fish tacos and some chips and salsa and some rice and some of Aria's chicken taquitos.
Water: Actually, I had a lemonade.

Dinner: I dunno... nothing, maybe. We ate lunch pretty late. --Okay so I decided to have some fresh veggies with a little bit of Ranch dressing since we got home late (10p) from a friend's house.
Water: 12 oz

Exercise: Ran a mile and then walked totaling 30 minutes. Then used the elliptical for 36 minutes. It's an odd time cuz I wanted to watch a scene of the movie the gym was playing and I was delaying as much as possible, but I was running out of time to pick up the Baby. Oh well. I'll just get the movie on netflix. :)
Water: 30 oz

Tuesday, August 10, 2010

Day 22

I need to start drinking more water again. I did really well for a few weeks and recently I started slipping on my water intake! Bad, bad, bad!

Breakfast: Bowl of Chex. :) Yum. (And 3 slices of ham. haha. It looked good!!)
Water: 12 oz

Lunch: Ham sandwich, most likely. And maaaybe some soup.
Water: 12 oz

Dinner: Will be tacos with corn tortilla shells. I like corn so much better than flour. Good thing corn is better for you!
Water: 18 oz

Exercise: Was lazy today, at the gym. I ran/walked for 30 minutes then used the elliptical for 10. Later, I came home and did a bunch of push-ups, a million of jumping jacks and a ton of arm exercises. I've got flabby arms and I'm tired of it.
Water: 20 oz

NOTE: So, I totally caved and had a Wendy's kids meal last night. haha. I really wanted chicken nuggets! and when they said it came with a Frosty, I couldn't resist. And the fries... yum.

Monday, August 9, 2010

Day 21 (And 3 Week!)

Today marks my 3rd week of exercising and eating right(er). :) Hehe I'm kinda excited about it.

Breakfast: Nothing. Yikes, I know, I know!! I am just really getting on the ball with packing and moving, I got busy. But I did go to the gym this morning while I was out.
Water: 8 oz

Lunch: A bowl of last night's dinner-- Spaghetti. But it's good spaghetti, as in, good for you. It was wheat noodles and the sauce was only 90 calories. Awesome.
Water: 12 oz

Dinner: Chicken and veggies and a few bites of Aria's pizza. :) Then, Mom brought Root beer and Vanilla ice cream. Couldn't resist!! :-D
Water: 24 oz so far.

Exercise: Walk/ran for a 30 minutes, about 2 1/2 miles. Then I used some machine I haven't used before (for 30 minutes). It's kinda like an elliptical but it was like I was skiing. It was fun.
Water: 20 oz

Sunday, August 8, 2010

Day 20

I haven't done any push-ups for like, 2 days, so I am going to be doing a lot today. No gym today, but that's okay. Friday, was the only day (aside from Sundays) that I've skipped since I started. That's pretty good!

Also, I've been at 153 for a few days now and haven't gone over 155, 156 during the day time. That's good because before I started all of this, I was around 157 in the mornings and up to 161 during the day. Christopher says he can tell a difference, but he's my husband and kinda biased. ha. I'm pretty happy with the results so far. Tomorrow will mark my 3rd week! I can't believe it's been almost a month! Cra-zy! :) I have one more week until I leave for CA (where I'll have no gym. :( Boo.) but hopefully it will be cool enough there that I can run out doors. :)

Breakfast: I love Sundays because Christopher usually makes breakfast for the family. :) And it's usually really good and healthy and yummy. I love my husband.
Water: 20 oz

Lunch: Ham sandwich and some chips and salsa.
Water: 20 oz

Dinner: Whole wheat spaghetti, which is surprisingly low in calories.
Water: 24 oz

Exercise: Lots of push-ups so far. And a little dancing with Baby. :) Gotta love it. Later, I went on a walk with Baby (who, by the way, has been saying "Thank you" all day to everything. hehe).
Water:

Oh, Snack: Otter Pop, which Baby dumped her's on the floor. On purpose. That was fun. **Sarcasm**

Saturday, August 7, 2010

Day 19

Breakfast: Nothing... I got busy getting ready for my friend's baby shower! :)
Water: 10 oz

Lunch: A Caesar bowl from El Pollo Loco. Yum. Along with a bunch of strawberries and some snow peas.
Water: None, but I had 2 cups of lemonade. heh

Dinner: Salmon and some broccoli.
Water: 2 glasses of Chilis sized glasses. Yup, we had Chilis again.

Exercise: I went to the gym for an hour. I ran a mile under 11 minutes! It was like, 10:38 or something....... I dunno. But it was definitely under 11 minutes! :) I'm way excited about that.
Water: 16 oz

Friday, August 6, 2010

Day 18

Not much going on today...

Breakfast: I didn't really have anything since I woke up early to go to work (at 8 hehe) and so I had 2 graham crackers.
Water: 12 oz

Lunch: Turkey sandwich, a mini carrot and 2 strawberries.
Water: 16 oz

Dinner: Not sure yet since we're going out! :) Yay!
Water: Will be a lot since I haven't had a lot today.

Exercise: I was going to go right after work but I forgot I had other plans so I couldn't. :( Boo. Maybe I'll go later.
Water:??

Thursday, August 5, 2010

Day 17

I think I'm starting to obsess about exercising a little too much. I had a dream that I was running across town-- *across town!!!*-- with some friends, and with Aria on my shoulders, no less. It's kinda nuts. I've also stopped staying at the gym so long every day. I'm only going for like 45 minutes versus a whole hour, if I feel like it. Otherwise, I'm afraid I'm going to get burned out soon and I don't want that to happen.

Breakfast: Bowl of Chex. I feel like I haven't had it in a while.
Water:

Lunch: One Arby Sandwich. Don't hate! I love that place. :)
Water: 20 oz

Dinner: I didn't eat until really late, which isn't a good idea, but I just got so busy. I'm going to be having a lot of roasted veggies. Awww. A favorite. Definitely.
Water: 24 oz

Exercise: Ran a mile, walked another mile. Used the elliptical for 30 minutes.
Water: 16 oz

Wednesday, August 4, 2010

Day 16

It's probably a bad idea to step on the scale *every* day, but I can't help it... I'm getting a bit obsessed. When I move to CA I won't be able to do that which will be good. I drank a TON of water yesterday and every time I woke up, I had to pee. Or maybe I woke up because I had to pee. Dunno.

Breakfast: So far, a crunch bar. I'd like to have some cereal but I might be too lazy to get it.
Water: 12 oz so far but I'm thirsty so I know I'll be having some more.

Lunch: Ham sandwich and the smallest bowl of mac and cheese. (Baby's lunch looked good! haha)
Water: 20 oz

Dinner: Will be Peanut Butter Chicken. Yum! We haven't had it in forever. I'll make white rice and limit how much I have.
Water:

Exercise: Since I had the day off from work, I went during the day rather in the evening. It's MUCH less crowded and I like that. I ran and walked for 30 minutes then biked for 20. In the 20 minutes I biked, I went over 5 miles! That's nuts. hah Baby went with me and enjoyed herself in the day care. She was the only there. :)
Water: 16 oz.

Kay, I couldn't help myself. I broke down and had a snack. It wasn't like the snacks I used to have in the past, which is good. An example of a snack from my history: A sandwich and a bowl of ramen. Would you not agree that is more of a meal than a snack? Today, I'm having a glass of milk, a spoonful of peanut butter and 2 graham crackers. I would have had celery, but we don't have celery in the house right now. Anyway, it's still pretty healthy considering. :)

Tuesday, August 3, 2010

Day 15

Last time I tried to lose weight, I lost 5 pounds in a week (due to the amount of and because of the food itself.) It was the Over Eaters Anonymous diet, but it's so stinking expensive to buy all that food. Not gunna be doing that this time, but I'll bet if I did, along with exercising, I'd lose it *super* quick. ANYWAY. My thought is that since I lost 5 pounds last time (and obviously gained it back) I'd like this short term goal to be 10 pounds. Then continue to lose weight of course. Hopefully by the time Chris and I meet for Disneyland, I'll have lost that 10 pounds. I've lost 3 so far, so just 7 more to go. Then another 10 after that for Margot's wedding. Then another 5 to get to where I wanna be. :) It's do-able!!! I can do it!! I just need to keep this motivation.

Breakfast: A crunch bar. Just one versus the two. I'm just not that hungry this morning.
Water: 13 oz

Lunch: Uh oh... hamburger. They had hamburgers at lunch today! And 6 (or 7) tater-tots. hehe.
Water: 36 oz

Dinner: Chicken and noodle casserole. :) And veggies. I haven't decided between corn and green beans yet but I'll have something.
Water: 28 oz

Exercise: I actually am thinking about skipping the gym today... Bad, I know. But my legs/ankles really hurt today and I'm starving. hah So maybe later tonight after I get some rest. ----Okay, I decided to go to the gym. I went for a half hour, which is better than nothing, right? Then, I went to the mall and got a piece of See's Candy. :) Yum.

Day 14

Oh my goodness! I've lost another pound!!! :) Awesome. I'm excited to be going back to the gym tonight. Yay!

Breakfast: Hard boiled egg and a bowl of Chex. I think this combo and the crunch bar breakfasts are my favorite. I tend to have them most because they are easy and yummy.

Water: 18 oz (I think that's the correct size of my work water bottle.)

Dinner: Baked chicken and green beans.

Exercise: Ran one mile and then walked a half mile. Then, Carly and I did some arm weights. She was way better but my arms ache!

Wow.

I just had an awesome dream about my mom, Wheat Thins and an airplane ride. Too bad I woke up and realized we need to buy more Wheat Thins... we're out. :( And my mom is in Indiana and the plane ride isn't for 2 more weeks.

Day 13

No gym today. I want to go but I guess it's good to let my body have a rest, plus, the gym is closed today. I also bought some Crystal Lite Green Tea Peach and Mango water flavorers. They are pretty good! They're supposed to help boost metabolism. We'll see if they help at all.

Breakfast: A crunch bar and an egg.
Water: 16 oz

Lunch: Small bowl of chili from last night.
Water: 32 oz

Dinner: I made chicken tacos. Delish!
Water: 24

Day 12

Not much to report today. Ate a bit much at lunch time but it's probably because I didn't have breakfast. I'm not looking forward to not being able to go to they gym tomorrow. :( Gotta figure out something else. Maybe I'll actually go outside to run. We'll see.

ALSO: I'm happy to report that I have seen some dropage on the scale! I've lost 2 pounds!! I'm really excited to see some results. I've been wondering and wondering. It's so great to see my number going down! Hurray!

Breakfast: Nothing—went straight to the gym-- bad, bad, bad. I know.
Water: 0

Lunch: A few bites of pasta and a ham sandwich. Then I had an Otter Pop. Oh and a few chips with salsa.
Water: 12 oz

Dinner: Christopher made a vegetable and beef chili. It was soo yummy!
Water: 32 oz

Exercise: Went to the gym right after we all woke up. Chris helped me with a few of the arm machines and some leg/calves machines. We ran a mile then walked a few minutes and then biked for about 10 minutes.
Water: 24 oz

Day 11

(Our internet has gone out so my posts may be a bit sporadic. Sorry)

I had a love/hate relationship with the gym today. After work, I was all ready to go. I called the gym in Orem (at 800 N) to make a day care appointment. They aren’t opened on Fridays after 1pm. Dang. Okay, so I called the American Fork day care since I was still in town. They were closing in a half hour. Crap. After I got off the phone, I ALMOST started to cry. (I think it’s because I’m PMS-ing. Thanks.) I get home and Baby is so tired, I just put her right to bed even though it’s nearly 6. She needed a nap. Around 7, I decided to go to the gym while Chris stayed home and looked after the baby. I’m really glad I went but it was tough to get there.

Breakfast: Bowl of Chex
Water: 24 oz.

Lunch: Ham sandwich
Water: 12 oz.

Dinner: 13 chips (yes, I counted. Haha) and some fresh salsa Christopher made. Yummy! With a can of corn with the tiniest drizzle of ranch and some taco seasoning. Then I had a few bites of rice.

Exercise: Ran a mile and beat my last mile time! Yay! It was just under 12 minutes. It was about 11:45 or something…. My goal was under 12 and I did it! J Then walked and ran until a half hour was up. Then I did the elliptical for 32 minutes (cuz I was watching a movie in the cinema room and wanted to watch a part. hehe).
Water: 32 oz

Day 10

I went to the gym twice today. Ran both times. This has been the easiest so far! :)
I also saw a show about chocolate today and it looked yummy. I said "I want chocolate"... which I've been wanting for about 2 days now. Chris said, "When was the last time you cheated?" and I said, "Like, eating candy? I haven't." So he said that I should cheat tonight because everyone should cheat once in a while otherwise, they'll cheat all the time. It's true. Then I went to See's Candy and got some Milk Chocolate chocolate buttercream. Mmmmm....... So good. Thanks babe for the encouragement to cheat. :)

Breakfast: One crunch bar. (I was in a hurry to get to the gym.)
Water: 24oz

Lunch: Ham sandwich and ... a bite or two of Baby's mac and cheese.
Water: 18 oz.

Dinner: Mm.. Tacos. 2 of them. And corn with some taco meat and salsa. And a few tortillas and salsa. Ate a bit much but it was yummy.
Water: 24 oz

Exercise: Gym this morning-- Ran/walked a half hour. Biked 15 minutes, ellipticaled 15 minutes. Gym tonight-- Ran/walked for 25 minutes then ellipticaled it for 5 minutes. It was a quicky gym visit but it was good.

Day 9

So I just totally ate too much food for lunch. Yikes. I gotta figure out when to go to the gym today since Chris won't be home till 11 tonight and Baby was sick last night. Eesh. Well I'll just have to pretend I ate dinner for lunch and lunch for dinner.

Breakfast: Bowl of Chex and bread with strawberry jam.
Water: 12 oz

Lunch: 2 slices of pizza and a bowl of pasta with veggies. Yikes. That shoulda been dinner at the most.
Water: 24 oz

Dinner: Ham sandwich.
Water: 12 oz

Exercise: 30 minutes on the elliptical, 20 on the treadmill and then 17 on the bike.
Water: 20 oz

Today's workout was lazier than in the past. Instead of running the whole time, I went back and forth between walking and running, but everything else was about the same. Also, Baby with me today too, to the day care. I've never actually used it but we paid for it when we got our membership. She seemed to enjoy it and didn't scream when I dropped her off. And the girl working there gave us a birthday invitation to her daughter's 4 year birthday party... kinda weird. She was nice... I don't think we'll be going though.

Day 8

Today, I have been really tempted at dinner. I cooked some rice and I *love* rice. Love, love, love it. Maybe because I'm Korean? Asian eat a lot of rice. How do Asians in Asia stay so stinking skinny???? All those veggies, I suppose. I don't look like any of those ones. haha It's getting easier to want to go to the gym and once I'm there it's easy to get going but midway through, I just wanna go home. heh. Still gotta figure out how to use the arm machines...

Breakfast: Bowl of Chex and a crunchy Oats and Honey bar.
Water: 12 oz.

Lunch: Ham sandwich.
Water: 24 oz

Dinner: Teriyaki Chicken, green beans and rice. One chicken breast and once scoop of rice. And then an extra bite. Hehe. After the extra bite I stopped. :) Promise.
Water: 12 oz (but I'll be having some more soon.)

Exercise: Today, I ran for an extra minute, making it ALMOST a 12 minute mile. (I stopped running at like, 0.97th of a mile.) Can you believe I used to be able to run an 8 minute mile back in middle school? Yeah... me either. But it's true. Maybe I will again some day. Then, the elliptical for 20 and the bike for 15.

Monday, July 26, 2010

Day 7

Today's work out part of running was harder than it was Saturday. Maybe because I had the day in between of nothing? Yeah, yesterday totally sucked because the gyms around here are closed. Totally lame. I'm really upset about it, actually. ANYWAY.

Breakfast: Bowl of chex cereal and a hard boiled egg.
Water: 24 oz

Lunch: A small bowl of mash potatoes and a TON of corn. Mmmm. :) Also a little bit of turkey.
Water: Not much. Maybe 10 oz?

Dinner: Not so great-- 2 slices of pizza and I'm going to be making some veggies to eat. Ahhh. :)
Water: 24 oz

Exercise: Ran 11 minutes straight, walked 15 minutes, elliptical 25 minutes and biked 10 minutes.
Water: 32 oz

Day Six

I didn't get to go to the gym today because the gyms shut down on Sundays so that wasn't any fun. I did do some push-ups though. I'll be going back to the gym tomorrow. Yay.

Breakfast: Christopher made me a ham and egg sandwich was pretty good.
Water: 12 oz

Lunch: The rest of the spinach salad from yesterday.
Water: 12 oz

Dinner: Hamburger and a can of corn. Yum. I love corn.
Water: 32 oz

Exercise: Push-ups
Water: 18 oz

Just a random thought...

Why is it that I am gaining weight now that I'm exercising and working out? This is ridiculous. :( In my first post I said I'm starting at 157. Thursday I weight 161!!!! LAME. I have been watching what I'm eating, running, walking, push-ups, etc, So why the heck do I weigh more? Luckily, this morning I weighed myself and I'm back to 157, but how lame is it that I gained weight? TOTALLY lame. Can someone *please* explain this to me cuz I pretty much hate it. Gracias. :)

Day 5

Today was pretty good exercise-wise. :) I've gotta figure out how to use some of the arm machines in addition to the cardio. I've been doing push-ups and the Wii boxing, but I'd like to be able to use some the machines at the gym, too. I have noticed some muscles in the sides of my torso, not where my love handles are but a little more toward the front, but not where an ab-pack would be. (ha, would be.) So that's a bit exciting. Also, why do guys always watch themselves lift weights? I find that odd...

Breakfast: Bowl of Chex mix.
Water: 12 oz

Lunch: Spinach salad and ham sandwich. Yum!
Water: 20 oz

Dinner: Salmon from Costco! :-D I *love* salmon.
Water: 24 oz.

Exercise: Running for 15 minutes, elliptical for 15 minutes, bike for 20.
Water: 30 oz

Also, today was the easiest cardio workout I've had since I started on Monday. Hopefully things get easier and easier as I go along. I'm hoping that by October, I'll have slimmed down about 2 dress sized. That would really be lovely. I'm excited to have some muscles show in my arms. I used to have some pretty defined ones in Middle School and HS. It'll be nice to have those back. :)

Day 4 (7/23)

This'll be short since it's now 1:11am and Chris is bugging me to go to bed. (I'm on the bed... doesn't that count?)

Breakfast: Rice Chex cereal, milk and some toast.
Water: 24oz

Lunch: Ham sandwich with a few bites of Baby's ramen soup. :)
Water: 24oz

Dinner: Some fruit drink and french dip and some nachos. I went out with some friends and decided to splurge a little.
Water: 30oz

Exercise: In the morning I did about 20 minutes of Wii Boxing and then after I was done with dinner I went to the gym for 40 minutes. Walked/ran, biked, and elliptical.
Water: 32oz

Thursday, July 22, 2010

Day 3

Perhaps I should also mention that the day before Day 1, I went to the gym with Carly. (We were there for about 45 minutes -- walked {could have run} and then did the elliptical for about 15 minutes.) If I don't, I'll forget I went. So, let's call that Day 0. haha

Breakfast: Bowl of rice cereal, a slice of toast (with yummy garlic jam).
(Snack: Crunch bars.. the Oats and Honey thing.)
Water: 24oz.

Lunch: Sandwich from a place in Orem called Sensuous Sandwich, with Roast Beef, lettuce and some mayo. It was pretty good. I also had a plate of roasted veggies I made.
Water: 20 oz?

Dinner: 2 slices of pizza and green beans. Yum! (The pizza made me kinda sick, so I think I'm done with yucky foods.)
Water: 24 oz

I also need to have more fruit. I'm a big veggie lover but I've also go to eat more fruits. You can't survive off veggies alone. To quote Marge Simpson, "Fruit is nature's candy!" haha

Exercise: I went to the gym after the baby went to bed and my husband stayed home. I ran over a mile, with 2 breaks-- a potty break (I've been drinking a lot of water!!) and then my machine started acting weird. It would slow way down and then speed all the way back up. I had to change machines.

Wednesday, July 21, 2010

Day 2

I got up extra early (Well... early for *me*) at 7, showered and ran off to get my hair colored. So, since I didn't have much time that meant not such a great breakfast. Hopefully the rest of the day goes better. Also, planning on going to the gym with Carly after work tonight. Yay. My arms are killing me from Wii Boxing as well as some muscles in my back that haven't been used in ages.

For my menus, I'm going off the OverEaters Anonymous (OA) diet, but I'll be tweaking it a bit since eating that much food is expensive every day/week. If you are interested in having a copy, lemme know!

Breakfast: Oats and Honey crunch bar (which was actually really good!)
Water: 24 oz

Lunch: Green beans, 2 hard boiled eggs and a touch of ranch dressing
Water: 24 oz

Dinner: Stir fry with LOTS of veggies-- zucchini, mushrooms and green bell peppers. Also, I'll have a little bit of rice (per OA). And of course,
Water: 24 oz.

Exercise: I walk/ran for 15 minutes/1 mile. This idea I got from my friend Meghan. I started out walking for two minutes, then I'd run for 2 minutes. Then I went back to walking for two minutes and then running again this time for three minutes. Every time I ran I'd run for 2 to 3 minutes. I also did a stationary bike machine for 30 minutes at no less then 85 reps/minute, and I'd also go as fast as I could for 15-30 seconds and then go back to my normal pace. I know it's not much but I've gotta start somewhere!
Water: 24 oz.

Day One

My goal is both long term and short term. The short term goal is to lose at least 10-15 pounds by Sept 30th for my friend's wedding in Oct. My long term goal is to lose 25 pounds by the end of the year or early next year. My starting weight... is really embarrassing, so don't hate! hehe. I am starting at 157. Eventually I'd like to be in the mid-130s and slim down. I have lost all my baby weight since A was born in Sept 08, but I most certainly don't look like it. I'll be using this blog to track my "progress" and jot down any thoughts I have during the next 6 months or so. Thanks for reading and wish me luck! :)

Water: As of 12:02p, I have had 24oz.
Exercise: 15 minutes of Wii Boxing. 10 (girl) pushups
Breakfast: Yikes-- a bowl of spaghetti. (Last night's dinner.)
Lunch: An otter pop, some ramen soup and a ham sandwich.
Dinner: We went out to dinner. I had bow tie pasta with "creamy pesto" sauce. Unfortunately I wasn't paying attention and I drank my entire glass of Root Beer. Yikes. And my whole thing of bread. BUT, I did only eat half of my pasta serving. That's gotta count for something, right? haha

Hmm... make that 2 otter pops. I spent an hour at the pool. I was thirsty! I promise I'll drink some water but mmmm, otter pops. :)
